buggs The Dwelling of the Dead Children

Today Kevin, Julie and I decided to enter the dwelling of the children of Pajarito Mesa hidden in the desolate desert of the Rio Puerco basin.

Enter if you dare!

What we saw there, was all captured with our cameras, basking in decay and frozen in time for us to peek into a living nightmare.

buggs Saying Hello to Bato

I saw that Everest was starting to move around and moan. I got closer to him and told him not to move. He didn’t listen to me, he tried to stand up and fell back down. I was also concerned about coming traffic, especially the ones coming from the south around the bend. Vehicles travel fast on this road and there were two people laying in the middle of the street. I helped Everest move to the side of the road. I asked him if he was ok and if anything hurt. He looked at me and asked what happened.… Continue

buggs The Curse of Casarare

The Chihuahua state highway from Creel is a well maintained paved road that winds through beautiful Ponderosa and pine trees. It had snowed yesterday but today was all blue sky. The nice asphalt was already dry from the melting snow and as I accelerated, I realized that this road was made to be ridden in motorcycles. As I leaned my bike to the right on another twisty curve I could hear the knobby tires of my DR650 dual sport bike squeak a bit in protest as the rubber met the pavement. I was car… Continue

Cynthia P. Thanksgiving 2009

Thursday - November 26, 2009 It was a busy week full of activity as the familia settled into their new digs for the upcoming holiday festivities beginning with Thanksgiving. (I wonder what we would be celebrating if all those starving pilgrims had not been saved by the resourceful Native Americans?) Our delicious feast began with a mouthwatering serving of Pa's special brisket. We all agree that Pa's brisket just keeps tasting better and better each time he makes it!… Continue

buggs Happy Thanksgiving

Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving! I know it is kind of silly huh? They say its good for the soul to laugh sometimes, especially against the misery that life sometimes brings. This use to be, and is, one of my all time favorite songs by Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody. This songs speak to me in so many ways and every time I hear it, the meaning of the message is always different. I suspect it will be the state of mind of your emotions that will drive the message. I once heard s… Continue
