MARENTES

The Marentes Network

Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving!

I know it is kind of silly huh?
They say its good for the soul to laugh sometimes, especially against the misery that life sometimes brings.

This use to be, and is, one of my all time favorite songs by Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody. This songs speak to me in so many ways and every time I hear it, the meaning of the message is always different. I suspect it will be the state of mind of your emotions that will drive the message. I once heard someone tell me that the song tells about suicide and murder. Is that what you hear when you follow the ride of waves in the lyrics? Or is it something more sinister? Perhaps something more personal and tragic?

The best written song of all time, complex in its melody and the lyrics make you want to cry, laugh and quiver in fear. A roller coaster of pure emotion moving you way high up and lowering you way low, all in a fast motion sweep. If you open your eyes, it is like getting caught in a landslide. There is no escape, good or bad. Although we seek escape from life's monstrosity.

The song will pull you in, and you will not let go. You can't! Even if you want to let go, it will not let you go.
It evokes anger at the things we so despite. The injustice of the violation of our vulnerability, especial when it comes from the people we trust the most. So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye?

So you don't like the way I am? There is always that choice you know! You can just love me or just leave me to die. Sometimes things in life come easy and go away easy, but only when we let go. Easy come, easy go, will you let me go?

No?

Are you frightened when you see the unknown, like the oblique and dark side of the shadows in our world? When you look at the end of the tunnel, do you see a little silhouetto of a man in the distant entrance or the bright light of hope? Can you turn around and run back out? Too late, the time has come. Very, very frightening to me. Sends shivers down my spine. What has the devil put aside for me? Afraid of the outcome, no time to chance.

Does the song sing to you about your real life, or is it just pure fantasy? It speaks to all of us in so many ways, that we can connect in our own interpretation of what the lyrics represent to each other. I submit to you that it touches everyone in different ways. Does it take you to a made up melodrama that you conduct to your own self serving way? It is ok, we must learn to let go. Because at the end nothing really matters.

The song is almost over and now I have to leave it behind me. It is time to face the truth of the real world, no time dream my life away.

Goodbye, everybody, I've got to go. Where? Anywhere the wind blows of course!

Ride the roller coaster with me with Queen and Bohemian Rhapsody.

PS: These are just my thoughts when I was hearing this song, please do not read into it, I guess I just felt poetic.
