Today I climbed the hill of Tome joining hundreds of faithful to see the three large crosses.
I was out of breath and my weak legs kept sliding on the loose rocks. But on my way up I met this man who was carrying a heavy cross on his shoulders. He climbed the long steep hill with his cross and when he saw me taking pictures, he made a point to stop to talk to me.
"My main focus today is to remove the cares of the world and concentrate on Christ’s presence in my daily life. You know mijo we should imitate Him instead of watching the distractions happening in our lives."
Once on top, I was really breathing hard, a reminder that I am out of shape. Physically I was worn but spiritually I felt rejuvenated. All kinds of thoughts went through my head, they were like spinning in fast motion, yet I felt calm and at ease. I felt remorse for everything bad in this world but wanted to rejoice for all the good
Watching the world on top of the hill, I just stood up there for a while, and almost forgot why I was there, to take photographs.
"For the purpose of life is to matter, to stand for something, to have it make some difference that you lived at all."
