Thanksgiving 2009

It was a busy week full of activity as the familia settled into their new digs for the upcoming holiday festivities beginning with Thanksgiving. (I wonder what we would be celebrating if all those starving pilgrims had not been saved by the resourceful Native Americans?)
Our delicious feast began with a mouthwatering serving of Pa's special brisket. We all agree that Pa's brisket just keeps tasting better and better each time he makes it!

Pa also made sure the ham was just as savory. Each tasty slice of ham was flavored with the juices of pineapple and orange.

Emiliano was in charge of the turkey and kept careful watch to make sure it was cooked to perfection.

The aroma was amazing and the turkey looked too good to eat!

We all tried our best to eat as much of the turkey as we could. Benito and Sammy each took a shot at polishing off a turkey leg.

The delectable feast overwhelmed even the biggest appetites in the family but we all enjoyed it very much especially the warmth of being surrounded by our loved ones. Hope everyone else had a good holiday!
